Our History

History of Impact

Fond Memories and Greater Washington has grown into a dynamic organization connecting communities through storytelling, influential speakers, and transformative service initiatives.
Our mission is to amplify voices that matter while creating meaningful, lasting change across the region.

We have welcomed renowned personalities, including Kelly Williams Jackson and the legendary Bern Nadette Stanis, who share insights that inspire audiences across generations.

Visionary Voices

Alongside our celebrity guests, we have also featured visionary voices and dynamic leaders such as Germaine Williams (CEO & Founder, The Red Bloom Wellness Spa), Dr. Vicki Irvin (Entrepreneur & Author), Yolanda Bryson-Durant (Entrepreneur), Chris Richardson (Relationship Strategist), Dexter Fields (Celebrity Florist), and the late Dr. Lane Rolling, M.D., who helped guide us through our COVID-19 Initiative. These thought leaders have empowered our audiences with wisdom on leadership, personal growth, relationship building, and resilience.

Dr. Vikisha Fripp, M.D., also provided invaluable insight during a safety-focused workshop on plastic surgery, highlighting the importance of education and awareness in healthcare decisions.

Influential Political Leaders

Notable figures like Senator Angela Alsobrooks and Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett have brought expertise in justice, governance, and public service to our forums.

Community Service Evolution

Our impact extends beyond inspiration into action:

• Homeless Advocacy: Comprehensive video documentation humanizes homeless experiences while programs provide hygiene supplies and essential toiletries.
• Dental Care for the Homeless: Partnering with Drs. Corey Murray, Calvin Wilson, and James King, we provide critical dental services and supplies to vulnerable individuals.
• Educational & Family Support: Collaborations with organizations like the Carolyn E. Parker Foundation and The Deb Moss Project create resources, mentorship, and stability for families and HBCU students.
• We are especially proud to honor Durecia Moorer, the first recipient of our support from Howard University, who represents the excellence and promise of future HBCU leaders.
• Senior Care Outreach: Through partnerships with Stoddard Baptist Nursing Facility in Washington, DC, and with support from Steven Nash, we collect meaningful donations, provide visits, and deliver programs that help seniors remain connected and valued.
• Boots on the Ground Line Dance Class: A community-centered class designed to bring people together through movement, connection, and joy.
• Jacob’s Ladder Youth Foundation: Partnered with Mr. Jarriel Jordan, Sr., Executive Director and Founder of Jacob’s Ladder Youth Foundation, to serve as a key donor and champion for youth empowerment.

By combining inspirational voices with direct service, we foster awareness and meet immediate community needs—a unique model that has defined our journey and impact.

Just like a camera, our work captures the good times, learns from the challenges, and takes new shots when needed. Each moment, whether in storytelling, advocacy, or service, helps us develop a clearer picture of lasting change.
